Institute Presentation

The Institut Gustave Roussy (IGR) is a cancer centre and tertiary referral centre for endocrine tumour patients. It is recognized in France as the unique centre of excellence for all endocrine tumours (thyroid, adrenals, neuroendocrine tumours) by the National Institute of Cancer. The department of Endocrine Oncology and Nuclear Medicine is devoted to treatment and trials of patients with malignant endocrine tumours for more than 30 years and enrols 10-20% of endocrine tumour patients in national and international trials. Within multidisciplinary teams and meetings, our department hosts all expertises in pathology, biology, imaging, genetic, and therapeutic required for the treatment of this network of tumours. Its organization encompasses translational research, computerised clinical file networks and databases. A dedicated department is involved in the organization for therapeutic trials. It is able to front the multistep processes of trials organisation including promotion of European studies. In addition, the statistics department has a long experience in the management of International therapeutic trials. Within the FIRSTMAPPP trial, IGR will manage the writing of the protocol, imaging centralized review, statistical analysis and promotion of the European study.

Institut Gustave Roussy participates in WP2, WP4, WP5, WP6, and WP7. The main tasks of IGR within the project will consist of the management of the FISTMAPPP trial for EU centres and validation of prognostic markers, predictors of response and surrogate markers within WPs.
