Università degli Studi di Torino is a tertiary referral centre for patients bearing endocrine tumours. The Department of Internal Medicine chaired by Prof. Terzolo is devoted to clinical research thanks to its large patient cohorts and a well established network of national and international collaborations. The department comprises a clinical study centre and laboratories equipped for biochemical determinations, hormone assays, cellular cultures, pathological and immunological analyses. Prof. Terzolo's group has a long time experience with clinical management of patients with adrenal tumours. Novel therapeutic modalities for adrenocortical carcinoma patients have been developed in collaboration with Prof. Berruti's group of the Department of Medical Oncology. Prof. Terzolo and Prof. Berruti are highly experienced in oncology trials since they implemented the largest published phase II trial in advanced adrenocortical cancer and the largest retrospective trial on adjuvant mitotane treatment. Dr. Ciccone is a leading expert in clinical epidemiology who will be in charge of developing the web structure of the ADIUVO trial (homepage, CRF) and performing statistical analyses.
Prof. Terzolo is the European Coordinator of the multi-centric international trial “First International randomised Trial in locally advanced and Metastatic Adrenocortical Carcinoma – FIRM-ACT; he is currently member of the Editorial Board of "Clinical Endocrinology" and he was member of the Editorial Board of the "Journal of Clinical Endocrinology and Metabolism".

Università degli Studi di Torino leads the WP7 and participates in WP3, WP4 and WP5. The main task of UTOR within the project will consist of
the implementation of the clinical interventional trial (ADIUVO trial) on ACC.
