Institute Presentation
The Centre National de la Recherche Scientifique (CNRS; National Centre for Scientific Research) is a government-funded research organization under the administrative authority of the French Ministry in charge of research. CNRS is the main fundamental research organization in Europe and is largely involved in national, European, and international projects covering all fields of knowledge. It is organized in 1211 laboratories, either intramural or in partnership with universities, other research organizations or industry.
In the ENS@T-CANCER project, one CNRS research unit, the Institut de Pharmacologie Moléculaire et Cellulaire, is involved. The PI, Dr. Lalli, has a specific experience in the field of adrenal cortex development, physiology and pathology, with particular emphasis on adrenocortical cancer and preclinical testing of novel drugs. Dr. Doghman and a technical person will be involved in the identification and in vitro and in vivo testing of novel agents inhibiting adrenocortical cancer cell growth.
Dr. Lalli is a member of the Editorial Board for Molecular and Cellular Endocrinology. He was awarded the Jayle prize of the French Academy of Sciences in 2005 and the Cancer prize of the French Academy of Medicine in 2008.
CNRS will be involved in
WP2 (Translational adrenal cancer models), contributing to the identification of novel agents to inhibit ACC tumour growth.
